7 Healthy Eating Tips to Help You Lose Weight in the Summer

Tags: , , , , , ,

Generally, as the weather gets warmer we wear less clothes, so as summer approaches many people want to lose weight and get in shape for the beach. Below are 7 healthy eating tips to help you lose weight during the summer months.

Tip #1: Fresh Fruits are the #1 Snack

Depending on where you live, you likely see a significant improvement in the quality of the produce offered at your local grocery store during the summer months. Stock up on fruit once or twice a week. Take them to work, eat them as snacks, and eat them as dessert.

I don’t know about you, but for me a ripe mango taste just as good if not better than candy or a sugary dessert. And fruit will always have so much more vitamins, minerals, fiber, and water than any processed sugary dessert that comes in a box or bag.

Weight Loss Tip #2: Eat a Salad Once a Day

Just like fruit, the veggies tend to be fresher during the summer months. When you stock up on fruit, also stock up on veggies.

Preparing your own salad at lunch or with dinner is a great way to add tons of fiber and minerals to your diet without adding tons of calories. Starting dinner with a salad is a great way to curb overeating and support weight loss.

Weight Loss Tip #3: Careful with the Cold Drinks

During a hot summer day it’s so easy to reach for something cool and refreshing to drink, but you have to be careful that you’re not drinking too many extra calories. Sweetened Lemonade can pack over 200 calories for a 12 ounce serving.

A can of ice cold Coca Cola has about 140 calories per 12 ounce can. A cold 12 ounce beer has about 150 calories. And if you reach for a mixed drink like a cold Pina Colada while you’re sitting at the beach you’ll take in an additional 600 calories.

During the hot summer days try to stay hydrated with mostly water. Drinking mostly water is a great summer weight loss tip.

Tip #4: Careful with the Cold Desserts

Just like cool drinks, during the summer months it seems so easy to reach for ice cream after dinner to cool off. Ice cream tastes good, but it can really wreak havoc on your waistline. An occasional treat is okay, but try not to get the deluxe banana split with whipped cream, caramel, chocolate, fudge, and nuts. If you absolutely must have ice cream, consider sharing with someone else or buy 1 dessert for a group of 4. Less is more.

Tip #5: BBQ a Little Healthier

BBQ’s are a part of summer that so many people love, but a BBQ doesn’t have to be an excuse for you to pig out on all the bad stuff. Go light on the full fat beef, cheese, potato chips, coke, and beer.
Consider sharing a half of a hamburger or skip the cheese. Always seek out any fresh veggies, and limit yourself to one drink that is not water.

Tip #6: Eat Less When You Dine Out.

First, I will say that preparing your own food will help you to lose weight if you eat out often. But, when you do go out to eat during the summer months, try to eat a little less. You can cut back on restaurant calories by eliminating 1 or more courses.

Do you need the bread, appetizers, desserts, and drinks? Ask if you can have the sauce on the side, and try to order something tasty and a little healthy.

Tip #7: Aim to Eat 4-5 smaller meals throughout the day.

I know so many people rush off to work with no breakfast, and often skip or have a light lunch. Then at dinner it’s 1000 calories followed by another 500 calories of dessert. Your metabolism doesn’t like large meals. Try to eat 3-4 300-600 calorie meals and 1-2 100-200 calorie snacks throughout the day.

Hopefully, these simple eating tips will help you to lose weight. Of course, if you are really serious about losing weight then you will also incorporate exercise. Walking is a great place to start, and adding weight training will give you a significant boost. Get started and stick with it.

Healthy Eating Plans Will Help You To Lose Weight Right

Tags: , , , , , ,

Most of us want to lose weight and/or get healthier than we are. Healthy eating plans are the key to that.

This doesn’t mean that eating healthily and making sure to take in balanced levels of nutrition are the only ways to lose those ten or one-hundred pounds. Starvation diets are popular, as are programs that completely eschew certain food groups at all times or certain hours or limit intake to only a few food types. These are only a few of your options, walk through the diet aisle in any bookstore and you’ll find a thousand more.

Because our bodies react to any drastic change in nutrition or calorie intake by processing more calories to make up for any lack, it is usually fairly easy to start losing weight quickly. Sustaining the weight loss can be at least as difficult as sticking to any radical dietary change, even harder is keeping a significant amount of weight off. Historically, a high percentage of people on diets regain at least the amount lost, if not significantly more.

This is not to imply weight loss through a change in diet is impossible. However, what is crucial to sustainability is changing our eating habits entirely. This means that rather than simply restriction or some other radical alteration, finding a healthy plan that can be stuck to, and which can affect an overall change in eating habits, is what will work best to take weight off, improve our health and keep it that way.

To that end, healthy eating plans are critical, not only to losing weight – which is not always the goal of a change in eating habits, thin people can be unhealthy too – but also to becoming an overall healthier person. All the nutrition in the world will only work if it’s combined with an active program for making it work.

Weight Loss – are You Fighting With yourself to Lose Weight?

Tags: , , , ,

Have you tried to lose weight in the past but failed? You may have been fighting yourself to do it. I’ll explain.

There are two main parts to our mind: the conscious and the subconscious. The conscious part of you wants to lose weight and look good this upcoming season. Meanwhile, the subconscious wants you to continue to eat all the foods that make you feel comfortable and happy. Unfortunately for you, those tend to be composed of sugar and carbohydrates which only make your waist line grow. In a scenario like this one, the person ends up yo-yo-dieting because their “Will Power” can only last so long – literally. Will Power only gives you a short burst of energy. Once it’s gone. It’s just gone. The only thing left behind is your emotional stress and frustration which can lead to a vicious cycle of weight rebounding.

That is the reason why the problem of losing weight needs to be tackled at the source of where the mental conflict is – in your subconscious. The subconscious is where all your habits and patterns lie such as not eating healthy, not liking to exercise and drinking only soda. Once you get this part of your mind in sink with your goals, change becomes easy because you’re no longer fighting with yourself.

Hypnosis Has Been Scientifically Proven To Work For Weight Loss.

Setting your mind to lose weight and motivating yourself to enjoy healthy habits is possible with Hypnosis. A significant number of studies (several of which are listed below), have demonstrated that adding hypnosis to a weight loss program significantly increases its success.

A 1996 study conducted at the University of Connecticut published in the Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology found that, on average, people who used Hypnosis were able to lose 2.5 times more weight than a person not using Hypnosis. The authors went a step further by stating, “The correlation analysis indicated that the benefits of Hypnosis increased substantially over time.”

As someone who previously battled with keeping extra pounds off, I know that you need to have the correct frame of mind in order to be successful. You may have experienced occasions when you’ve dieted and exercised but then your will power wore off. In the end, you slipped back to your old patterns and rebounded in weight. This continuous vicious cycle affects you not just physically but emotionally because as your self-esteem spirals downwards you start to overeat; you start eating calorie laden comfort foods again and you get stuck in the same pattern.

This scenario happens to countless of Americans who fuel the diet industry with their purchases of diet pills and other fads in hope of achieving their weight loss goals. The problem, however, is that the more you rebound, the more you set yourself up for failure for the next time you try to diet.

In reality, the perfect equation for most people to lose weight is simple. It’s:

Weight Loss = The Right Mind Set + Healthy Eating + Exercise

That’s it. In life as in science, the simplest answer is often the correct answer.

Hypnosis can help you achieve the right state of mind by “cleaning up the mental clutter” that prevents you from holding a determined course to lose weight and live a healthier lifestyle. It gives you the ability to naturally chose to eat healthy foods, to want to exercise and to be focused on achieving your weight loss goals. For some, it’s as simple as one session, while others see benefit from a series of sessions.

In a research article titled, Hypnotherapy in weight loss treatment, a group of researchers found that in a test group of 60 participants, those that did not use Hypnosis only lost .5 lbs while the group using Hypnosis lost 17lbs. Why? Because the people who had access to Hypnosis sessions were able to achieve that weight loss combination that eludes most people today.

More proof of the ability of Hypnosis to boost a person’s weight loss was shown in January of 2004, when Dateline aired “Losing it: Dateline ultimate diet challenge.” The show compared some of the most well known methods known to losing weight including the Atkin’s diet, Slim Fast, Weight Watchers, extreme exercise with calorie restrictions, working with a diet coach and Hypnosis.

The top two weight loss techniques that worked were Hypnosis and the Atkins diet. Unfortunately for the man who used the Atkin’s diet (Rick Burns), while he lost weight, he also became sick. “Rick developed a painful case of gout, a condition he’d had before, that he suspected was a result of the diet.” His diet had to be modified.

Marc Merlis, the man who did Hypnosis along with exercising and eating healthy continued to happily lose weight.

“After three months under Hypnosis, his wife had a nickname for him. Incredibly, “droopy drawers” had lost the most so far, a staggering 40 pounds. That’s when droopy’s wife got in on the action. She went to the hypnotist to quit smoking. And guess what? Smoke free, fat free. Five months in, for the Merlis’s things couldn’t be better. And at their son’s bar mitzvah this May, lifting Marc was a piece of cake.”

As long as Marc continued his Hypnosis routine, he was able to continue his path of losing weight. One of the things that I noticed about this weight loss challenge was how much the other contestants suffered by the calorie restrictions that they had to undergo. It’s hard to focus if you feel that you are starving. Hypnosis helps program your mind to think thin – this includes wanting to exercise and wanting to eat healthy so you’re not constantly struggling about what choices you have to make. An added plus to Hypnosis is that it helps you control your stress levels. This in turn helps you to lose weight.

Even highly respected consumer advocate John Stossel of ABC’s 20/20, who is known for debunking fraudulent claims, agrees that Hypnosis is no sham. In his best-selling book, “Myths, Lies and Downright Stupidty”, he makes a bold take on Hypnosis:

“Just when my skeptic’s antennae convince me I always know bunk when I see it, I get fooled. I assumed hypnosis in medicine was one more con game… “Hypnotherapy will help you lose weight!” C’mon, if it worked, there wouldn’t be all those overweight people around. Truth: Hypnosis works — if you let it!”

Smokers can also reap the benefits of Hypnosis for weight loss. A two-fold study stated that both nonsmokers and smokers alike experienced significant weight loss as well as decline in their Body Mass Index compared to the group who did not practice Hypnosis. In fact, the group who used Hypnosis continued to show lower post treatment weights. Non-invasive and relaxing, Hypnosis makes achieving your goals easy.

Hypnosis simply allows you to have better motivation and self control as well as a positive emotional association with your diet and exercise. You don’t just lose weight, you gain control of your own life, so that you can go out there and achieve all the other things that are on your list of goals.

Tags: , , , , ,

Quick weight loss is not impossible but if you are thinking that it happens instantly without any effort on your part, you are seriously misled or living in delusion. If you are willing to observe and stick with a proper plan, together with steps and quick weight loss tips I will reveal in this article, you will find yourself ready for some fast weight loss. Are you ready to lose weight starting from today?

Weight loss and diet programs come and go. Some are just the fad of today, and people chase after them without fully understanding if they would work for them. Of course, there are some long-standing ones which do work such as the Atkins and Cambridge Diets. However, over-relying on a special diet program is not for everyone due to our different genetic make-up. There could be adverse side-effects that could surface and result in long-term health problems.

Weight loss is a lifestyle than a physical act. Let’s take a closer look at why most people fail in their weight loss attempts. Survey results showed that the majority failed due to the lack of proper preparation. To be more specific, their will and motivation to lose weight are not strong enough and they give up easily each time a weight loss program does not work for them. Many others give in fast to temptations of personal indulgence like food, snacks and the like. Still there are some who simple find it too tough to work out physically. Unless you take your weight loss seriously, there is a high chance that you will throw in the towel after a while.

Assuming you are serious about losing weight, you then qualify as a good candidate to apply those quick weight loss tips shared here. Losing weight successfully requires your mindset to be fixated on your quick weight loss plan and goal, no matter which route you have chosen. Plans do work but only if we work on them. Ask yourself what are the reasons for you wanting to lose weight. Make sure they are motivating enough. Think of the worst case scenario should you fail; the ugly stares at your fat tummy, not feeling confident when approaching the girl/guy you wish to date? The purpose of this whole exercise is to condition your thinking. Ok, once you have found the strong reasons to lose weight, you are one step ahead of many others.

Now, we will look at 3 practical quick weight loss tips:

1. Be Prepared to Put in Effort

Your fat does not melt while you are sleeping or dreaming about it. You need to do something about it. We live in a world where everything seems to be ideal in the media. The movies we watch feature only beautiful ladies with excellent figures, handsome looking men with nice abs, and so on. TV commercials flash nice advertisements with a famous celebrity endorsing some slimming pills that touts itself as the “Diet Pill of the Century” and that’s how they got their svelte figures. Frankly, these are gimmicks playing on your fears and anxiety. The celebrities or models you see already have great figures before they shoot the advertisements. Everyone wants a wonder pill that helps them to lose weight instantly without any effort. That is why people would not hesitate to try these diet pills and supplements. Unfortunately, most don’t work.

2. Be Focused in Your Weight Loss Goal

Quick weight loss can be achieved if you can stick with your exercise regime and dietary plans. It may take some time but it will happen. Stay focused on your goal, and keep reminding yourself on the motivating factors of your weight loss when you are starting to feel disappointed. It is important to share your goal with close friends and family members or even join a support group. Their constant encouragement would spur you on to fulfill your weight loss dream. No man is an island. Remember to put this quick weight loss tip into practice.

3. Have Fun in Your Weight Loss Exercises

Many folks fail to realize that weight loss can be an enjoyable experience. It requires deliberate but simple effort to inject fun. People have shared that they hated weight loss because they have to sacrifice their time with their TVs, their computer games, and give up on their favorite foods, and so on. Weight loss seems to have a negative connotation. If you are burning your calories, why not engage in games that you love? Like playing a game of tennis, or take a plunge in the pool and have a relaxing swim? For people who don’t like physical sports, they can go for brisk walking. Take a nice stroll with your loved ones. You wouldn’t even realize that you are exercising.

I hope these preparatory quick weight loss tips are beneficial to you. Find out what are the 10 easy weight loss tips that you can follow straightaway to lose weight fast in my blog.

General Health Rules Help you Lose Weight

Tags: , , , , ,

Each person is the dream of being thin, Happy and Healthy, but in today’s world of work and fast food, we know that is not possible. Most people are busy to eat, what to get it quick, easy and on the road. Forget about exercise! After his long day of work, children running around and you’re tired to do otherwise. No matter what happens in your life, you still have to think about eating better and working to achieve that body you’ve always wanted. So why not start with a couple of steps in the direction you can make in your everyday life.

Breakfast absolutely most important meal of the day. If you believe or not it’s true. Your body needs fuel to function during the day and the food is your fuel. Your body burns carbohydrates throughout the day to give food first thing in the morning is the best you can do. Also, drink a glass of water in the morning is good and it re-hydrate your body.

So here the great floor of fear …. carbohydrates! I believe that carbohydrates are very poorly understood, are not the enemy only has to learn a little more about them. Carbohydrates should be taken into why eating more defiantly will harm your body and you gain weight.

Simple carbohydrates are the type of damage, which you want to stay away from. Simple carbohydrates are basically anything that absorbs quickly into your body. For example. pop, pancakes, chips (all junk food), potatoes, white rice, white bread, pasta, etc … They give you a sugar high, (you have to quick burst of energy) and then crash (when you feel tired completely new). Basically everything is a processed simple carbohydrates, as well as most of the starches.

Complex carbohydrates, this is the best type of carbohydrates to eat. I do not recommend eating many of these either in a meeting, but it is the best way to go between the two. Complex carbohydrates take longer to digest therefore in your body, making you feel fuller longer. So if you feel more complete as it is less likely to snack on junk food in the middle. For example. whole wheat bread, brown rice, oats, nuts, grains, etc. .. Although not always apparent, as the most exciting choice of choosing is defiantly the best way to go.

-Proteins are the best thing to feed your body. Satisfy your hunger for protein and no added sugar in your body. Choosing the right protein is the key. Lean meats, chicken, tuna, almonds (only a handful at a time), cottage cheese, soy milk (for women), rice or almond milk (for men), eggs (no more than 5 per week with yokes ), etc … Protein helps build lean muscles strong as long as your eating the most appropriate. Bacon is not a good source of protein! You want to stay away from fatty meats.

Water is extremely important for your body. 2 / 3 of the body consists of water, it needs to function. Water is the fuel for your car, is something that is not free. 8 glasses of water a day!

Snacks between meals is not always a bad thing, provided that the right to choose their type. Fruits and vegetables are excellent, but if your quest for Weight Loss to get a little more protein. Grab a handful of walnuts, almonds are a great source of protein. Have a protein bar, not only these are a great source of proteins that suppress the appetite. Try to stay away from junk food!

Walk 30 minutes a day is all it takes to start burning fat. This would be the only thing that could be a bit more challenging to add to your day. As exhausted as you may be concerned and to commit to 1 weeks, you will notice a difference in your energy level. It must be a continuous 30 minutes to work, but it is a great way to get out of the house and enjoy the outdoors. If you have children or have a dog with you, draw a path around your neighbor and go. You’ll be surprised how quickly the 30 minutes fly by.

Last but not least stop snack at night! Many people find that if you stop eating at night, which alone promote their weight loss. When you go to bed not doing anything to burn the food you just created, especially if a large meal or a lot of junk food. Everyone knows that the night is the easiest time to snack and sometimes snack foods are fast food restaurants. Try to avoid eating at night, if you’re hungry drink a full glass of water that fills up your stomach. Sometimes we think we’re hungry, because they’re bored or just want to eat, so if water does not work and need to go to a protein snack. Note that when you first decide to change their habits is going to have some power too. Walk away from the kitchen, try to get your mind on something else. Mind over matter!
